Baja Shakespeare

Since I haven't downloaded the most recent photos here is one of Dylan taken before he got his hair cut.

Nearing the end of March and we are a week into Baja Shakespeare. One week from this Sunday morning we will be heading in to Palmas de Cortez hotel for the last of our five performances and it will all be over for another year. It is an intense time but so much fun with such a crazy bunch of thespians. This year our director, Stephanie Shine and her stage manager, Michelle are from Seattle and we have a visiting Shakespearian actor from Nashville, Bill Coleman.

Today, Sunday is our one day off and we're heading off to Rancho Buena Vista hotel to the annual art festival.

March already

For any of you who are still checking I'm sorry its been so long since my last entry. As you may know January was chaotic with my mom's funeral. When we left Canada she was in hospital but I expected she would return home as she had so many times before. In fact she did get back home but only for ten days or so when she had a serious stroke. I made arrangements to fly home right away but before I could get back she passed away January 19 in the early morning. It was a hectic two weeks back in cold, cold Saskatchewan and I was rather numb not just from the cold but the shock of losing my mom. My son Brendan was there for a week and that was comforting and so many family and friends gathered that it was indeed a grand send off.

Now where did the month of February go? We had mixed weather in Baja with some of the normal wind but many beautiful days too. Dylan is already into his second set of exams in Los Barriles and doesn't seem to be very concerned, nor do I see much studying being done. He and Manuelito got together for the first couple of days to study.

Oh yes, we had Bob's sister Jackie and husband Jim for ten days after they spent a week at their timeshare in Cabo. They are such good guests and Jackie takes right over in the kitchen and we ate like kings and we are still trying to lose the extra pounds. We started some projects to put Jim to work but weren't able to finish of them before he left. In order to screw down the last three 1x2s on the second floor patio shade I crawled over the top parapet and sat on the beams since Bob wasn't interested in hanging out over midair. Speaking of hanging in midair-Dylan and Jim were the brave ones who went parasailing in Cabo San Lucas. Good thing I wasnt' on that trip or I wonder... Once again I'm having trouble getting the photo to download so perhaps later.

Shakespeare has started up with once weekly meetings to read through the play-Much Ado About Nada. I play Friar Francis and almost get to marry Hero [played by Rebecca] and Claudio.
